using for zooming large images

I was wondering if there was a step-by-step process to use the tiling map to display fairly big pan-able images in a WordPress blog.

Basically I have some large mindmaps. I want to embed them on my content area. I want them to embed and I can host the image / image sections myself on the site, but I can't find another equally robust way to display them.

Again there is no actual cartography required, just using the front end controls and properly creating the image data. Seems like a great way to create a gigapan image using a really robust and open framework.
