Problem Installing TIle Mill for Windows using Virtual Box

Hi,

I can't seem to get Tile Mill to operate using Virtual Box. I downloaded and installed Virtual Box with no problem. I brought in Tile Mill through "Import Appliance," it loaded fine. When I start the Tile Mill VM, the Ubuntu window opens, I can access the file menu within it and open the other programs there, but no sign of Tile Mill. No login screen pops up, either. I did this first with Virtual Box 4.1.2, then, realizing the Tile Mill instructions said to use 4.0, I did this with 4.0.12. Same thing, both times.

What should I try next?

    open up mozilla firefox and there should be a bookmark to http://localhost:8889 where tilemill will be running for you. This should have been in the readme but somehow the readme was left blank, sorry!

    it doesn't matter what version of Virtual box u would like to use (either 4.0 or 4.1). Inside the Ubuntu there is auto loader that initialize tilemill and tilestream - just open Firefox or even upgrade system to use Google Chrome (open Terminal and do such things: http://www.multimediaboom.com/how-to-install-chrome-in-ubuntu-11-04...) and type for tilemill as Dane said: http://localhost:8889 and for tilestream: http://localhost:8888

    Thanks! I opened Firefox and it works just fine.
