Gets weirdly stuck on "Manual" mode
Just downloaded TileMill 0.9.0 and unzipped and installed, but couldn't actually use the program.
On the first-run, the program window will open, but the program won't load "Projects" "Plugins" or "Settings". And clicking on "Manual" gets the program stuck on weirdly-formatted Manual content. Can't click on other buttons to change the view. Clicking on "projects" or "settings" doesn't change the view.
Running Mac OS X 10.6.3 on a Macbook Pro.

Sarah,
That's odd. First I would try deleting the TileMill application and reinstalling. Also, do you still see this when running TileMill in the browser? To do this go to http://localhost:20009 while TileMill is running.

deleting and re-installing didn't change anything
runs normally through the browser! which is great. thanks for that tip at least.
Let me know if there's any more detail/screenshots i can provide... :)

Hi Sarah,
Can you open the Safari web browser on your Mac and choose "Safari > About Safari" from the menu? Just check what version you are running and post it here. For example, I have 5.1.1 (7534.51.22).
Thanks,
Will

am running Sarari Version 4.0.4 (6531.21.10). When i open localhost:20009 in safari it performs as the native application does with the error.
and for what it's worth, was earlier successfully running the localhost stuff via chrome 18.

Hi Sarah,
Sounds like the best course of action would be to upgrade to Safari 5 by choosing "Apple () > Software Update..." from the menu. Let me know if that's possible and if it helps.
Thanks,
Will

Did updating Safari solve the problem? I am experiencing the exact same issue. I cannot run through the local host because I can't hook to the internet.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Does TileMill load in Safari at all? What version of Safari do you have installed?

Hi Will,
Good news! I just did the software updates and now TileMill is working. I just installed Snow Leopard over the weekend but hadn't run any of the updates.
So, if others experience this issue, I guess it is a matter of running updates!
Thanks, mamata
