Creating tint bands
Hello,
Do you have a methodology for creating tint bands using Tilemill? For our National Park polygons at a particular scale, we'd like to have tint bands (or buffalo tints) within the park boundaries as seen in our printed map products (image attached). This is also very common on National Geographic maps.
I've tried a few methods with no luck.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks, mamata

Hi Mamata,
Unfortunately Mapnik doesn't support drawing lines that way, so the only approach right now would be to derive a new geometry that is the difference of the original polygon any a negative buffer of that polygon. This is obviously not ideal.
You can keep an eye on Mapnik https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/issues/927 which is related to the feature you describe.
